Managing Director, Investments
Prior to joining CommonGood, Trey was in the Distressed Products Group at Deutsche Bank, where he helped manage a $1 billion balance sheet investing in distressed situations across multiple asset classes and industries. In that role, he was involved with several high-profile bankruptcy cases, including Lehman Brothers and Toys R Us.
Trey spent several years before that as an investment banker in Deutsche Bank’s Natural Resources Group, advising large North American corporations on M&A transactions and equity and debt financings. During that period, he worked on several multi-billion dollar mergers and helped to raise over $1 billion dollars in the secondary equity and credit markets for corporate acquisition financing and working capital needs.
Trey began his career at UBS as a member of the Emerging Markets team. Through his work analyzing corporate and sovereign credit in developing countries, it was there that he first developed a global mindset and realized both the needs of entrepreneurs and the opportunities for investors.
Trey serves on the council of Generosity New York, a philanthropic organization devoted to creating a community of generous givers, and the board of The Bowery Mission, NYC’s longest-standing homeless shelter and rescue mission.
Trey holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Yale University, where he was also a member of the varsity baseball team. He was named Ivy League Player of the Year and Yale MVP during his senior year.
Trey lives in New York City with his wife, Nicole, where they enjoy attending the Metropolitan Opera, visiting museums and walking through Central Park. He is also an avid squash player and golfer.
